hiding my heart
seems dishonest
not speaking my truth—
not giving voice to how I feel—
a deeper betrayal
bullshitting you
is not an option
avoiding discomfort
distorts my perception,
leading to self-abandonment
yet, the shadow
of overwhelming silence
continues to divide
our complex bond—
grace and trouble
walking hand in hand—
impossible to define,
yet undeniable
no power taken,
no expectation implied,
not bargaining with reality—
only reaching
for a deeper understanding
