Punching the Moon

I feel like punching the moon

For waking me in the middle of the night

For bringing an intensity

I could do without

I feel like punching the moon

For inciting inner turmoil

For rousing pain

For having my soul cry out

I am desperate to ground and connect

Seeking anything to hold onto

desperate to find calm

and a coming to my senses
